Creative Visions Photography Workshops is pleased to announce out 1st Dance Workshop. The human form in motion is one of the most elusive yet intriguing of photographic subjects. We want to capture the graceful forms of the dancer in their pose by slicing that moment into 1/2000 of a second. This Dance Photography Workshop will be an educational/creative workshop for photographers to develop the art of dance photography. I started photographing dancers about 10 years ago.
Dance photography is similar to sports photography. However, I refer to dancers as "Athletes with Grace." We are taking the dancer out of their comfortable space and using the McGregor Memorial Conference Center as the backdrop. Camera settings, posing the dancer, clothing for the dancer, improvise or not to improvise, look for details, timing, etc. will be discussed.
We are fortunate to work with Julia who Studied Dance Choreography and Performance at Wayne State University. She also teaches dance and is a member of the Suttle Dance Company. The day will consist of a number of creative exercises including action shots, poses free movement, and improvisation. Equipment: DSLR or Mirrorless, short zoom telephoto (I use a 70-200 or 24-105), a wide-angle zoom (something like a 12-24), an off-camera flash may help, you don't need a tripod. If you have any questions you may call me or text me at (734)634-9366.
**This fee includes a tip that will be shared with Julia for her time and talent. The tip has been included as part of the above cost.
Please contact, via email, the team leader to ask any questions about this event. Thank you!
