Capture the Splendor of The Whitney Mansion

Come and join us as we shoot The Whitney Restaurant and Mansion, one of Detroit's most iconic and beautiful historical mansions! We are reserving the restaurant for one hour for us to be able to wander around and capture all three floors of this magnificent space. We will meet inside the front door of the restaurant at 2:45pm, be sure to be on time so you can shoot for the full hour. Afterwards, we will meander to The Ghost Bar on the third floor for 1/2 off happy hour drinks and appetizers if any of you will be interested (last time we had a great time afterwards so consider it!). More details will be forthcoming to those who RSVP.

The fee for the event covers the cost to photograph the space.

To prepare for the shoot, be sure to bring a tripod if you have one, this will help you get sharp images. Bring a wide angle lens (or the widest you have), it would be great to shoot this space, but even a midrange or macro lens would be nice to capture some of the beautiful architectural details.

Please be aware there will be no refund for this event, as payment is required ahead of time to book the shoot. You are welcome to find someone to go in your place if you are unable to attend.

Cancellation Policy For Workshops

For any student workshop cancellations, Creative Vision Photography Workshops (CVPW) cancellation policy is as follows:

  1. For cancellations received at least 60 days prior to the workshop start date: CVPW refunds any tuition paid, less a $50 processing fee.
  2. For cancellations received 30 to 60 days prior to the start of the workshop: CVPW refunds any tuition paid less the tuition deposit (if applicable).
  3. For cancellations received within 30 days prior to the start of the workshop: CVPW retains full tuition.
  4. For cancellations after the workshop is in progress: CVPW retains full tuition.
  5. For no-shows: CVPW retains full tuition.
  6. Refunds will be processed within 30 days after our office receives notice of cancellation.

Note: Workshop content may change from that advertised based on weather, access to shooting locations, and other unforeseen situations. Whenever possible, registered students will be notified ahead of time of any changes. CVPW reserves the right to cancel any program that does not meet minimum participant requirements, in which case participants will be informed as soon as possible and all money will be refunded. CVPW is not responsible for any losses incurred as a result of a course cancellation. We encourage participants to purchase refundable airline tickets and consider purchasing trip cancellation insurance.
